Stokes Lawrence is pleased to announce that attorney Leslie Vander Griend has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for Calvin University, her undergraduate alma mater. Leslie’s appointment began her three-year term of service in August.
Calvin University, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a globally recognized Christian liberal arts institution renowned for its academic excellence and for encouraging students to engage with the world with curiosity and conviction.
“I’m honored to serve Calvin in this way,” said Leslie. “The College—now University—and professors were formative in my life, and the liberal arts degree prepared me well for a legal career. I am grateful for the opportunity to support Calvin’s mission and vision for the future.”
At Stokes Lawrence, Leslie advises clients on trademark protection, enforcement, and litigation in the United States and internationally. She works with a broad range of industries, including retail, food and beverage, entertainment, software, and luxury goods. She is also an active member of the broader community, lending her time and leadership over the years to Seattle Pacific University, the International Trademark Association, Washington and Georgia State Bar Associations, UGM Open Door Legal Services Clinic, and Shoreline Christian School.
As a trustee, Leslie will join fellow board members in providing governance, oversight, and strategic guidance to Calvin University as it continues to pursue excellence in teaching, research, and service.
