Stokes Lawrence is pleased to announce that Benjamin Spruch has joined the firm’s widely recognized estate planning team in our Seattle office. With a robust background in estate planning, trust and estate administration, complex tax planning, and business succession strategies, Ben brings a wealth of experience to our team.

“We are thrilled to have Ben join our estate planning team. His extensive experience in tax and estate planning, estate administration, and business succession strategies strengthens our ability to serve clients with sophisticated and personalized solutions,” says Jenna Ichikawa, the firm’s estate planning team leader. “Ben’s thoughtful approach to helping individuals and families navigate complex planning needs make him a fantastic addition to our team.”

Ben began his legal career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, specializing in indirect state and local tax. There, he advised clients on intricate Washington State tax matters, including sales and use tax, B&O tax, and real estate excise tax issues. He also represented clients during state tax audits and before the Washington State Department of Revenue.

In 2015, Ben transitioned to a Seattle-area law firm, where he developed sophisticated estate plans for high-net-worth individuals, modeled estate and income tax liabilities, and provided strategic counsel to fiduciaries in trust and estate administration. His work encompassed probate, guardianship, and TEDRA matters, ensuring smooth transitions and legal compliance for his clients.

At Stokes Lawrence, Ben will continue to focus on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and business succession planning, providing clients with comprehensive strategies tailored to their unique needs.

Ben earned his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Washington School of Law in 2011, his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law in 2010, and his B.A. in Business Administration - Economics from Seattle University in 2006.
