Valerie Walker represents clients in commercial and intellectual property disputes, as well as in employment matters.
As a litigator, Valerie has advocated on behalf of clients before federal and state courts, arbitrators, and administrative agencies. She has handled cases related to breach of contract, breach of warranty, negligence, unfair labor practices, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, and unfair business practices. Her strong research skills contribute to her success across diverse practice areas, enabling her to effectively represent clients in litigation and negotiate favorable outcomes.
Valerie’s intellectual property practice focuses primarily on assisting clients with protecting their trademark rights, while her employment practice involves advising clients on federal and Washington State employment law issues. Valerie’s clients range from individuals and small local businesses to large corporations. Through her experience in litigation, both in representing plaintiffs and defendants, Valerie is better able to flag potential legal issues and advise her clients on the big picture.
Prior to joining Stokes Lawrence, Valerie was a Law Clerk for the Honorable Robert S. Lasnik, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. She has also served as legal counsel to various school districts and cities in Washington. and as a law clerk for the Labor and Industries Division of the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.
