Employment Attorney Anna Long Joins Stokes Lawrence

Stokes Lawrence is pleased to welcome Anna Long as an associate in the firm’s Employment team, where she will advise clients on employment discrimination, workplace investigations, and the increasingly complex intersection of privacy and employment rights.

Anna’s background in appellate work, legislative analysis, and policy development enables her to provide clear, practical guidance tailored to employers’ evolving needs.

Anna joins the firm following a two‑year clerkship with Chief Judge Lori K. Smith at the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division I. During her clerkship, she managed a diverse and sophisticated docket of civil and criminal appeals, conducted extensive legal research, and drafted judicial opinions.

Before her clerkship, Anna gained experience in both legislative and judicial settings. As a legislative extern with the Washington State Hospital Association, she contributed to legislative drafting and policy analysis on issues affecting Washington’s healthcare systems. She also served as a legal extern to Judge Beth M. Andrus at the Washington Court of Appeals, where she deepened her understanding of appellate practice and engaged directly with client-facing legal work.

Anna earned her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law in 2023, after receiving her B.A. in English from Whitman College in 2020.
