Stokes Lawrence Velikanje Moore & Shore is pleased to announce that Jr. Cuevas, a shareholder on the firm’s business & Native American law teams, has been appointed to the transition team for Washington State Attorney General-Elect Nick Brown.

The transition team will assist the Attorney General-Elect in preparing to assume office, advising on key priorities, organizational planning, and the strategic initiatives necessary to ensure a smooth and effective transition. Jr.’s background counseling American Indian and Alaska Native tribal governments, as well as his work on national policy initiatives and economic development efforts, will provide valuable insight to the team during this critical process.

“I am honored to support the Attorney General-Elect’s transition and look forward to contributing to the important work ahead,” said Jr.

Jr.’s appointment reflects their strong leadership in the legal community and their commitment to public service. As a son of Mexican migrant farmworkers, Jr.’s interests encompass issues that intersect with equity, justice, and the way that the law can be used as a vehicle to enhance prosperity for all. Jr. has an active pro-bono practice consisting of successful representation of clients in asylum matters, voting rights issues, land-lord tenant cases, Indigenous rights litigation, and consumer protection issues.

“Jr.’s selection to the transition team is a testament to his depth of knowledge, dedication, and professional integrity,” said Theresa Wang, managing shareholder. “We are proud to see him contributing to the future of our state’s legal leadership.”
