Stokes Lawrence Charitable Foundation
The Stokes Lawrence Charitable Foundation supports Northwest public charities that advance social justice and provide essential services—including food, housing, clothing, education, and health care—to individuals in need. Funded primarily through contributions from Stokes Lawrence shareholders and employees, the Foundation also accepts donations from the public and matches qualified charitable gifts made by employees.
Since its inception in 2012, the Foundation has supported organizations such as the Campaign for Equal Justice, the Washington State Bar Foundation, the Future of the Law Institute, and Northwest Harvest. Through our matching program, nearly 100 charitable organizations have benefited. In addition, many employees contribute individually through payroll deductions to organizations such as United Way and the Women’s Funding Alliance.
Charitable Activities & community service
We dedicate our time, talent, and financial resources to organizations that promote social justice and support individuals and families facing hardship. Stokes Lawrence was recently recognized by the Puget Sound Business Journal as one of Washington’s most generous corporate donors. Our charitable efforts help expand access to legal services and provide essential resources, including food, housing, clothing, education, and health care. We also participate in the legal community’s annual Food Frenzy, raising several thousand dollars each year to support Food Lifeline in Seattle and Northwest Harvest in Yakima.
In addition to financial contributions, our attorneys and professional staff actively volunteer in the communities where we live and work. From supporting community-based nonprofits to participating in citizenship and resource events, and more, we are committed to strengthening our neighborhoods and helping underserved populations access the support they need.
