Stokes Lawrence was recently recognized as a leading law firm for gender diversity by legal industry blog Above the Law in its 2016 Law Firm Gender Diversity Index. When ranked by percentage of female lawyers at the firm, Stokes Lawrence falls within the top 7% of the largest firms in the United States.

To determine its rankings, Above the Law teamed with technology company NavForward, which used a number of data mining techniques to categorize every lawyer in the largest 1,200 firms in the country. The firms were then graded on a scale from A to C, based on total number of attorneys, percentage of female attorneys, percentage of female associates, percentage of female partners, and percentage of female promotions from associate to partner. Stokes Lawrence received an A.

“We are so pleased to be recognized on this list,” stated Managing Shareholder Kelly Twiss Noonan. “Stokes Lawrence has always had a high percentage of women attorneys, owners and leaders. We are proud of our culture where all of our lawyers, regardless of gender, are encouraged and supported in growing their practices.”
