Stokes Lawrence is pleased to announce that Amy Kangas Alexander has joined the firm’s Employment practice as an associate in the Seattle office.Amy comes to the firm after serving at the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division 1, since 2016. At the court, she was a law clerk to the Hon. Michael S. Spearman, and also worked as a staff attorney. Prior to serving at the court, she was a Medical-Legal Partnership attorney with the Northwest Justice Project. Amy built successful partnerships with Sea Mar Community Health Centers, Seattle Children’s Autism Center, and Harborview Medical Center. Through these partnerships, she helped individuals and families navigate legal problems to achieve stability in housing, employment, medical care, education, public benefits, and immigration status.
Amy earned her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law, and her B.A. with honors in History and Latin American Studies from Wesleyan University.
She joins the firm’s highly regarded Employment group, where she will assist employers and employees in a variety of employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination.
