Stokes Lawrence has joined Lawyers Associated Worldwide (LAW), an association of nearly 100 independent commercial law firms in 54 countries. Membership into the association is granted after prospective member firms undergo a thorough due diligence review by LAW’s Executive Committee. Membership in LAW allows member firms to have access to a host of lawyers for clients with businesses and legal matters outside their home jurisdictions.

"Our membership in LAW allows us to expand services to our clients. Through this network, we can assist clients with legal needs in other U.S. jurisdictions and in many foreign markets. In fact, we have already made use of the network to refer or collaborate with lawyers in China, Germany, Denmark, Canada and other locations within the United States," noted Managing Shareholder Kelly Twiss Noonan.

She added that the firm chose LAW because of its focus on high-quality firms serving business clients and their owners, and also because of the opportunity to foster relationships with fellow members.

"Legal service is a relationship business. By attending regional and international meetings and connecting with fellow members when we travel, we will have the opportunity to build relationships with other members," she explained. "By getting to know member firms and lawyers professionally and personally, we will be able to refer our clients with confidence, knowing their legal needs outside of the areas where we are licensed to practice law will be handled promptly, professionally and capably."
