Related Practices: Estate Planning & Administration and Trust & Estate Litigation

The Stokes Lawrence Estate Planning practice was named among the leading practices in Washington by Chambers and Partners in its annual High Net Worth Guide, a publication focusing on the international private wealth market. The publication also recognized Shareholders Doug Lawrence, RoseMary Reed and Katie Groblewski as leading estate planning lawyers in the state. The rankings are determined after researchers from Chambers spend several months interviewing attorneys and clients to learn about the local legal community. The Stokes Lawrence rankings are a reflection of the practice’s reputation among its peers.

The Estate Planning group was noted for its practices in Seattle and Yakima, and was described as having “some of the best people” in the trusts and estates area.

Doug was recognized as one of the top estate planning lawyers, ranking in the top band of the publication’s tiered system. He commands great respect in the estate planning community and was noted for his work in developing legislation in the state. One fellow attorney noted, “Doug really is one of the finest trusts and estates lawyers in the city, he's really very good. He also does mediation of disputes in this area, and because of that he brings a very calm, even-handed approach to everything he works on. If I had a problem, I'd go to Doug.”

RoseMary was noted for her work with individuals and families on estate and tax planning, as well as her work with nonprofit organizations and her involvement in the trusts and estates community. One interviewee commented, “If I had to refer someone, I would send them to Rosemary,” adding that “She’s fantastic, very well respected, and serves her clients well.”

Katie was named one of the estate planning community’s Up and Coming attorneys. She was recognized for her work with families and individuals with their estate planning and trusts and estate administration matters, and business succession planning. One person interviewed noted Katie’s level of knowledge, “I think she has a lot deeper understanding of the interplays of tax laws and estate planning than others do.”

This is the second year Chambers has published the High Net Worth guide. Doug and RoseMary were both listed in the guide’s inaugural edition in 2016.
