For the second time in a week, Stokes Lawrence was recognized nationally for its gender diversity. The firm was named among the 100 Best Law Firms for Women (subscription required) in the United States by legal industry publication Law360. This ranking is based on the firm’s female representation at the partner and non-partner level and its total number of women attorneys. Stokes Lawrence was also recognized on Law360’s “Ceiling Smashers,” ranking among the Top 25 firms with the highest percentage of women partners. Currently, women make up 43% of owners and 50% of all of lawyers in the firm.

Earlier in the week, Stokes Lawrence was recognized as a leading U.S. law firm for women on the Above the Law Gender Diversity Index, ranking as one of the top 7% of firms for percentage of female lawyers.

“We are delighted to be recognized nationally for our gender diversity,” noted Managing Shareholder Kelly Twiss Noonan. “Stokes Lawrence has a long history of supporting and developing women leaders and owners. Some of the firm’s policies contribute to a successful environment for our women attorneys, including offering 12 weeks of paid family leave to all new parents, having reasonable hours expectations, offering flexible work arrangements, and not having a ‘mommy track’ for partners. While these policies are important, they are the product, not the source, of the firm’s culture of fairness, respect and opportunity and reflect the firm’s core values.”
