Stokes Lawrence’s Employment practice has tallied another victory. In this latest win, attorney Mathew Harrington represented a woman who was terminated from her position as a partner with a Big Three accounting firm. After a trial on the merits, a panel of three arbitrators found that the accounting firm failed to provide the client with the retirement payout due upon her termination. Noting that the accounting firm did not properly calculate the entire retirement payout due, the arbitration panel not only made a substantial award to the client, but also awarded attorneys’ fees.

This is the second victory for the Stokes Lawrence Employment group in as many months. In April, the firm successfully won a unanimous jury verdict against Equal Employment Opportunity Commission claims that firm client Evans Fruit and a foreman had retaliated against 10 former employees who were assisting in an EEOC investigation of allegations of sex harassment.
