Sarah Wixson, Lance Pelletier and Maricarmen Perez-Vargas were recently mentioned in Good Fruit Grower's "Help Wanted for Hiring Help"

Sarah Wixson recently presented during the "Navigating Legal Minefield" session at the Washington State Tree Fruit Association Annual Meeting in December. Good Fruit Grower reported on Sarah's presentation regarding the pitfalls and potential liabilities in hiring farm labor in Washington in 2022. The biggest issue for ag employers in 2022 is overtime as they "must pay overtime at time and a half for workers who exceed 55 hours a week." 

Lance Pelletier and Maricarmen Perez-Vargas spoke on the complicated Washington Farm Labor Contractor Act and what growers need to know about potential areas of compliance risks.
