community service
Stokes Lawrence is dedicated to making charitable gifts that reflect the firm's commitment to community—our local legal community, our local social services community and the working community of Stokes Lawrence employees. The Charitable Contributions Committee has identified three categories of firm giving to provide financial support for each of these communities:
- Gifts to local organizations that provide legal services to the poor and promote social justice;
- Gifts to local service organizations that provide the poor with access to food, housing, clothing, education, or health care;
- An annual matching gifts program that will match employee contributions to qualified charitable organizations.
Organizations which have been the recipients of SL giving include:
- The Campaign for Equal Justice
- Childhaven
- Food Lifeline
-
KCBA Future of the Law Institute
- The LAW Fund (Legal Aid for Washington)
- Martin Luther King Scholarship Fund
- Mercy Corps
- Northwest Harvest
- Solid Ground (formerly Fremont Public Association)
- University District Food
Bank
Our matching gifts program has also benefited nearly 100 charities.
Individually, our employees are proud to participate in the United Way of Greater Seattle Fund.
