A registrant or applicant may want to submit the substance of a Wikipedia webpage for factual background, or to rely upon representations made about either party, including potential identification of trade channels, good/services offered and target customers. While it is widely recognized that the reliability of Wikipedia pages is easily questionable, the TTAB has concluded that it "will consider evidence taken from Wikipedia so long as the non-offering party has an opportunity to rebut that evidence by submitting other evidence that may call into question the accuracy of the particular Wikipedia information." In re IP Carrier Consulting Group, 84 USPQ2d 1028, 2007 WL 1751192 at *4 (TTAB June 18, 2007).
