Rick represents national and Northwest companies in a wide range of labor and employment matters, including labor disputes and employment litigation. Rick devotes a significant portion of his practice to the arbitration and mediation of employment matters and serves as a member of the American Arbitration Association's commercial and employment panels and the panel of mediators for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.

Rick is past chair of the King County Bar Association's Labor Law Section, past chair of the Pacific Coast Labor Conference, and presently serves as co-chair of the Washington State Bar Association Committee for Diversity.
Recent presentations have included effective advocacy in mediation for the Office of the Attorney General and U.S. Department of Justice, advocacy in arbitration for the American Arbitration Association, and mediation of sexual harassment cases for the Washington State Bar Association.
Rick is a frequent speaker on employment and labor relations issues and the mediation process.
