Shannon M. Jost
PRACTICE EMPHASIS:
Shannon is a shareholder and practices in the areas of intellectual property, corporate law and commercial litigation. Her experience includes advising clients on the acquisition, protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights; drafting and negotiating trademark, copyright and technology development and licensing agreements, trade secret and non-disclosure agreements; and representing clients in civil litigation in state and federal courts and in contested administrative proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE:
- Drafting and negotiating digital media license, software development and services agreements for a global electronic retailer; trademark, copyright, and patent license agreements; web site development and operations agreements; multimedia and technology licensing agreements; manufacture and supply agreements.
- Counseling on a variety of business operations matters, including negotiation of sponsorship/advertising agreements, confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements, independent contractor agreements, licensee compliance, advertising and product packaging review.
- Advising clients on wide range of intellectual property licensing, contract and enforcement issues, new media, e-commerce, domain name, privacy and other Internet-related issues, unfair competition, false advertising and commercial disparagement.
- Intellectual property prosecution, litigation and enforcement for variety of clients including leading telecommunications, information services and manufacturing companies, professional sports league, provider of senior living communities and several Northwest wineries.
OTHER EXPERIENCE:
Prior to joining the firm, Shannon was associated with the New York office of White & Case LLP.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
Shannon is a member of the International Trademark Association and the Intellectual Property Section of the Washington State Bar Association.
EDUCATION:
Shannon obtained her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, and her B.S. degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
ADMISSIONS:
Shannon is admitted to the Washington State Bar (2002), the New York State Bar (1997), several U.S. District Courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
