PRACTICE EMPHASIS:

Beth’s practice focuses in the areas of estate planning, gift and estate taxation, probate and the law of exempt organizations. Beth assists individuals and families with estate and tax planning and charitable planned giving. She also advises families in all aspects of probate and estate administration. Beth assists not-for-profit organizations and foundations with incorporation, application to the Internal Revenue Service for recognition of tax exempt status, board structuring and education, tax exempt status compliance, fund raising, and strategic planning. She was named as a 2007 Super Lawyer and one of the Top Fifty Female Lawyers in Washington by Washington Law & Politics magazine.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:

Beth served on the Editorial Board of the WSBA Washington Estate Planning Deskbook and is a former member of the Executive Committee of the WSBA Real Property, Probate & Trust Section. Beth is Past President of the Washington Planned Giving Council and is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Seattle. She has taught as an adjunct professor at City University and Seattle University School of Law.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES:

Beth currently serves on the Board of Directors of the YWCA of Seattle/King County and Snohomish County and the Board of Trustees of the Rainer Club. She chairs the Community Advisory Board of Dress for Success® Seattle, is a Past President of the Board of Directors of Book It Repertory Theatre, and volunteers as a consultant for the United Way of King County.

EDUCATION:

Beth obtained her law degree from University of Georgia School of Law, cum laude, in 1995, and was awarded a Masters of Not-for-Profit Leadership from Seattle University in 2000. She obtained her B.A. in History from Davidson College in 1992.

ADMISSIONS:

Beth is admitted to the Washington State Bar (1999) and the Georgia State Bar (1995).
